I read once in a newspaper article on Haiti.
There was a massive earthquake there. How did it managed to spread throughout the world? by the news and twitter. A guy with a soft heart made a blog on Haiti and the ways to help them. He blogged about the happenings in Haiti and the conditions of it. He must have reached out to thousands of users. No wonder Haiti received a lot of help.

Another case was that a boy lost his pet and he post it on twitter.
He received tons of comments and sooner or later, he found his pet. How cool is that?

The GoOd side of using twitter

1. You can use it to discuss about homework and projects.

2. You can write your feelings about what has happened during school. Let it all out but please no vulgarities, :)

3. Interact with people from all over the world! You may be surprised that some people may have common interests with you. (be careful. Some are cyber perverts/bullies.)

4. Play games. Have fun.

5. You can just explore the people who uses twitter. You even may find your long lost friend. (someone you have not seen for quite some time).

Cyber wellness tips for Twitter

Twitter is like a blog and there are a lot of thinks u should not do on a blog.

1. Never post your personnel pics or a pic of your relatives, friends, etc.
Reason: Cyber stalkers can and may use the pictures to know your usual hideouts, family, friends and even yourself. If u do so, they will try to take an advantage of you and they will harm you.

2. Don't reveal your gender and age.
Reason: Cyber bullies may use this information to approach you. Eg: A 16-year-old girl. They will approach the girl in a certain manner that will grab the attention of a 16-year-old girl.

3. When creating an account, don't use your real name as your profile name. Instead, use something original and out of this world but it also must be something you like. Eg: Tony Hawk.
Changed it to 'the bird man' or 'the beak'.
Reason: It is to hide every information about you that is true.

4. Be careful of the information that you reveal online.
Reason: Any info you reveal online is freely accessible to anyone and it is not within your control as you can't control who looks at the info.

5. Don't believe in all that you see on twitter.
Reason: Most are lies. It will try to get your personal info when ever possible.

1. If you do not set your privacy properly to only those whom knows you, anyone from different countries and places are able to view your profile and pics and track you down.

2. Even if you delete your pics, people can still view it if they pu in the effort to search for it.

3. Users of twitter may set up accounts using false identity. They will use this to 'stalk' people by being friends with them.

4. Make sure that your security is tight in twitter. Twitter accounts are not 'hack free'. People who are I.T savy can easily 'hack' your accounts.

5. Twitter has this function that will always log in automatically sign you in. If you use twitter on a public computer, strangers can log in using your account. To prevent this, go to your settings or before you log on to twitter,switch off the the function that will sign you in automatically.
